Autumn – a Great Time to Visit Australia

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 2:41 pm

I know that lots of people like to travel in summer and Australia is one very popular travel destination for overseas visitors from December through to the end of February but if you’re thinking of coming to Australia then think seriously about coming in our autumn months.

Why autumn? Well obviously the really hot weather is on the wane and as autumn sets in the colours in New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania begin to change and within a few weeks the dry browns and greens of the Australian countryside have changed for the bright yellows and oranges that you associate with that time of year.

If you’re going to be in Sydney then all those beautiful colours are only and two hour’s drive from the city. You can head up into the Blue Mountains to the west of the city or go south to the Southern Highlands and you will be overwhelmed by the bright colours.

In some places the colours are so bright that it’s as if the leaves had electric lights built into them and if you’re taking photos be sure to give your camera time to adjust to stronger lighting around those trees.

If you don’t like to drive in a foreign country then there are bus tours that can take you to those areas or even try a Sydney helicopter charter. You’ll be surprised at how inexpensive a scenic flight in a helicopter can be and the view of the Blue Mountains or Southern Highlands in autumn is something you’ll never forget.

You can even arrange for the helicopter to drop you off at one of the fine restaurants in the Blue Mountains and pick you up after dinner that features some of the finest cuisine that Australia has to offer.
